You’ve heard from our size? Experts in Manchester, Glasgow and Paris, but now we’re back over to our flagship store to catch up with size? Carnaby Street’s Jack and find out a little more about his streetwear preferences.

What’s your name and where are you originally from?

“My name is Jack, and I’m from London.”

How long have you been working with size?

“I have been with size? for just under 2 years now.”

How would you describe your style?

“Comfortable and functional – a lot of inspiration taken from Japanese styling.”

Tell us about a few of your favourite shoes of all time?

“Firstly, my favourite shoe is the Acronym x Nike AF100. It has the core simplicity of the great white-on-white Air Force 1, but with added Lunar cushioning for comfort and side zip for added function,

“My second favourite at the moment is the Sacai x Nike LD Waffle. Taking two classics and fusing them together and adding modern colour-blocking and styling is just a win for me,

“There are a lot of shoes I’d love to talk about, but the last one I’ll mention is the Clarks Wallabee. Having a simple silhouette that can be dressed up or down is essential. Versatility is important!”

Any shoes you’d like to see brought back in the future that hasn’t been reissued yet?

“I’d love to see Jordan re-issue the Air Jordan IV ‘Military Blue’ with the Nike Air heel tab branding. I know they were reissued in 2006 and 2012, but we’re yet to see a retro with full OG detailing.”

What are you wearing a lot of at the moment? What’s in your regular shoe rotation?

“As of late, I’ve been wearing a few iterations of the Air Force 1. The Rocafella retro has been getting a lot of wear recently as well as the ‘Ivory/Python’ from last year.”

What are some of your biggest influences?

“I’m always taking inspiration from my surroundings and the people around me. Alongside that, Japanese and Americana fashion is always a stand out for me. Music also plays a big part, whether it be classic NY stylings or early 00s alternative.”

Anywhere you look for inspiration?

“It goes without saying that Instagram is such a key tool in finding inspiration these days. Instead of having to bookmark a bunch of blogs or subscribe to magazines, you can follow all these accounts and have it all in one place. I still have a love for print though and love to pick up Rizzoli books whenever I can.”

What sort of things do you like to get up to outside of work?

“I try to attend as many concerts as I can. Music plays a big part in my life and there’s something about seeing an artist live that can’t be replicated. I also have an interest in design and I’m aiming to start creating jewellery.”

What sort of products would you say your city is really buying into at the moment?

“The Air Max line has always been a cult classic within London. Air Max 90s and 95s will always hold nostalgia, and whenever a classic colourway is reissued it’s always going to be a hit.”

What products that we’re currently stocking at size? Do you think people should be taking notice off?

“As the popularity in simple silhouettes and clean colourways rises, I think Reebok’s Club C is a shoe people should really pay more attention to. It’s sleek and minimal while also being stylish and comfortable.”

Anything new or innovative that’s arrived that you think will be big this year?

“The New Balance 327 I think will for sure be a huge hit this year. With collabs such as the size? exclusive colourways, I think this is only going to boost the popularity of the model, and I look forward to seeing what other colourways pop up throughout the year.”

Are there any particular brands you’d consider yourself an expert on?

“While I don’t tend to put them on foot a lot anymore, Jordan is what I came into the game on. From ’09 to 2014, every month there was a new pair. I was obsessed. I paid more attention to which Retro was coming out than I did to my homework.”

As one of our latest additions to the Experts team what are you looking forward to the most? How do you think your skills can help?

“I’m hoping I can put people onto footwear they wouldn’t necessarily choose on their own accord. Getting people to try new things.”
