Over the years the brand has constantly remained at the forefront of footwear innovations – DMX cushioning and the InstaPump Fury to name a couple – and now we’re being treated to the next evolution of underfoot cushioning. Introducing the Zig Kinetica System.

Designed to make the most of kinetic energy-return and push the limits of what’s possible, the all-new cushioning creation fuses together three main components – a Zig Energy Shell, Zig Energy Bands, and Floatride Fuel.

Harking back to Reebok’s zig-zag midsole from the early ’00s, the Zig Kinetica sole unit energises your every step with its Floatride Fuel foam cushioning. Keeping it compressed, a Zig Energy Shell surrounds the foam to improve stability and channel the energy-return into your next step. Lastly, Zig Energy Bands on the outsole extend and contract to propel you forward.

Onto to the uppers – created by Garbstore’s Ian Paley – the pair’s intricate, deconstructed design consists of breathable micro-vent mesh and felt-like synthetic fabric overlays for lasting comfort. Painted in two bold palettes inspired by the heat map of kinetic energy flow, both iterations feature a buckle strap over the laces to lock your foot firmly in place.
