We’ve got something very special for you with the latest episode of size?collections – this time round we welcome Manchester City and England defender Demi Stokes. A member of England’s victorious EURO 2022 winning squad, Demi sits back and reminisces on worry-free kickabouts from a young age to her career highlights. Plus the art of balancing motherhood with being a professional footballer – let’s look at what she’s collected over the years.

After winning the EUROS last year, Demi reflects on the immense support received by fans and how the team propelled women’s football in spaces it had never been before, breaking barriers and transcending them. Though there’s still a lot of work to be done to raise the profile of the women’s game, it’s incredible to see more representation on and off the pitch.

A remarkable representation of mothers in sport, Demi stepped into parenthood for the first time last summer, just before the EUROs kicked off. It brought its challenges so holding onto medals and keepsakes from the team, to share with her family, is super special to Demi. Her passion for collecting football shirts comes from being able to look back at them with a story behind each shirt, whether it’s one she wore playing in the Premier League or one she’s custom designed at Nike Town.

Alongside memorabilia, we also got a glimpse into Demi’s footwear collection. We came across crisp, white Air Force 1s – one of her favourite pairs – simply because you can “dress them up or dress them down” thanks to their versatile nature. Another favourite pick-up? The Air Jordan 5 Retro ‘Easter’ that’s finished in ‘Regal Pink’ with the sumptuous nubuck upper and traditional AJ5 elements.

Equipped with multicoloured frills, the Nike Air Max 97 ‘Be True’ which is inspired by the fluidity of expression is also in Demi’s collection, as well as a downsized rendition of the Nike Dunk Low ‘Tiger Stripes’ – a perfectly, bold staple to get little one’s collection going if you ask us.
