Since our doors opened in 2000, we have been committed to supporting positive social movements, both locally and across the globe. Offering a platform for suppressed voices to be heard is important to us, and this year’s Pride weekend in Manchester is a great event to do so.

We hosted an in-store activation with the Manchester-based charity akt, which support young LGBTQ+ individuals who are facing or experiencing homelessness in the UK. While Pride is about celebrating the LGBTQ+ community, it is also a time to help and spread awareness about the difficulties that are faced on a daily basis.

To showcase the dedication and hard work that akt carry out to support the LGBTQ+ community, we have conducted a set of interviews with staff members to gain an insight into their incredible work – check out our chat with Lara above! What’s more – with 24% of homeless young people identifying as LGBTQ+ – ourselves and Stance will be donating £10,000 to akt. Stance will also be providing a generous selection of socks to the trust for those in need.
