We have another size? collections for you this week; this time we caught up with the Donnelly brothers before their next Gio-Goi capsule. Celebrating rave culture, this collection arrives just as the UK’s clubbing scene begins to bubble again.

Two figureheads of the Manchester acid house movement, the brothers showed us through some throwback items that really capture the spirit of the seminal dance scene. From loose-fit rave clobber to early Gio-Goi content, this size? collection will get you into the spirit of ’88.

Sing Sing Pants

“Anthony bought these in Ibiza town. He didn’t wear ‘em in the UK, so I snaffled ‘em and they became part of my acid house uniform.”

Bespoke Denim Jacket

“This jacket was a present for my 18th birthday. A one-of-a-kind piece, which soon became part of my acid house uniform. Later seen in Chase and Status’ ‘Blind Faith’ video.”

Converse Chucks

“Bought these in Ibiza, in a sports shop near ‘Cafe Del Mar’. You’ll notice the toe box on these is very similar to the Chuck 70s available now.”

‘Joy Summer of Love’ Tee

“This is an original Summer Joy tee, from 1989. Joy was a very hazy time, an event that me, Anthony and Cousin Tony put on that went on for two days. This is an original t-shirt from that rave.”

‘I Need You’ BVSMP Record

“I forgot I even still had this record! John DaSilva used to play this Sunday nights at ‘Stuffed Olives’ (probably about 4am) to chill everyone down. An insane record! Chilled vibe.”

Gio-Goi ‘Feet’ Deck Shoes

“During our first manufacturing trip in Portugal, we decided to move into making shoes as ‘Gio-Goi Feet’. The boat shoe design referenced early casual culture and the terraces of the early 80s.”

ID Magazine Feature Cutting

“This is a cutting from a Gio-Goi feature in ID magazine. It was a 5 Page article on the brand. The f*cked up clothing range meant that we could get away with anything. If anyone made a return, we’d just say ‘it’s meant to be like that, it’s part of the f*cked up range!’”
