Our adidas Originals ‘Anniversary City Series’ has made a triumphant return throughout 2020. Its sought-after silhouettes have received a rousing reception and will no doubt be talked about for years to come, and now it’s time for us to showcase the collection’s fifth instalment, the ‘Stuttgart’.

Continuing the twin theme that has seen Dublin, Manchester, London and Glasgow twinned with Liverpool, Cordoba, Shanghai and Havanna, this latest offering harks back to 2010’s Cardiff trainer. Sharing its title with the capital of southwest Germany’s Baden-Württemberg state, the Stuttgart utilises the same tooling, design lines and materials as the Cardiff.

Stuttgart has a rich history in the world of automobile production and is home to luxury sports car manufacturer Porsche who has been situated in the region since 1931. As a nod to Porsche’s original horse-stamped crest, we’ve painted our latest ‘Anniversary City Series’ instalment with black across its supple leather base, with touches of red and yellow on the 3-Striped and heel counter respectively.

Golden ‘Stuttgart’ lettering decorates the sidewalls and lace-tips – a feature also visible on the Porsche crest – while a signature gum rubber sole unit provides an archival aesthetic, and 1/2020 detailing at the heel highlights the pair’s limited nature.

The same as the pack’s previous releases, the Stuttgart’s footbed harks back to the Cardiff’s contrasting black and yellow colourway, and the pair come housed in a bespoke shoebox that features Cardiff-inspired detailing on the interior.

What’s more, we’re also putting together another collectable city guide that sheds light on the shoe’s inspiration, Stuttgart’s past and plenty more.
