The Air Jordan 3 ‘Court Purple’ nods towards original 1988 designs

One of the greatest in the Jordan archives; Michael Jordan’s third basketball silhouette dropped in 1988 and opted for a Swoosh-less sidewall, choosing Jumpman branding on the heel instead. They also featured a unique elephant print up top, another fresh feature which marked Tinker Hatfield’s first Air Jordan design; one that would go down in the sneaker history books.

This latest reiteration of the classic silhouette shares similarities with one of the original 1988 models but with added splashes of purple in the mix. Similarly, the trainer has sturdy leather uppers with synthetic elephant print overlays, and Jumpman branding takes over from the well-known Nike Swoosh. Beneath, a white and purple midsole features with Air Jordan tech in the heel for that extra on-court springiness and comfort.
