Listen up Jordan fans; we’ve got exclusive access to a duo of striking Air Jordan 1 Low silhouettes that hark back to two classic models from the Nike archive – what a treat you’re in for.

Dropping here at size? two weeks before anywhere else, the first model in the pack takes a nostalgic approach and draws influence from one of Nike’s very-first track-inspired turf shoes, the Astrograbber.

First seen in 1976 after two-years of extensive athlete research, Nike developed the Astrograbber in response to the change in football playing surfaces and the impact they had on the game. The result was a low-riding shoe with breathable mesh and suede across the top, plus a flat-sided Waffle cleated outsole that served up trusted traction on artificial turf – a pioneering foot piece for the moulded football boot outsoles of today.

So to nod back to this Nike trailblazer, Jordan has painted their Air Jordan 1 Low in the same minimal shades as the ’76 OG. The pair’s midfoot, collar, and tongue all arrive in ‘Sail’; the toe-box, eyelets and heel sport a crisp white, while black Swooshes and tongue branding provide a contrasting touch. Very clean.

The second of the pairs honours the Nike Air Tailwind ‘Night Track’. The glistening model was originally a ‘Friends & Family’ release and gifted to the likes of pop-royalty Michael Jackson and Knight Rider star David Hasselhoff in the ‘80s, before being made available to the wider public way later in 2012. It boasted shimmering shades of silver and red across the top, with a glittery outsole and laces for a disco-ready aesthetic.

As an ode to the iconic runner, Jordan has built this AJ1 Low with shining ‘Metallic Silver’ hues throughout its leather uppers, ‘University Red’ Swooshes, plus matching silver laces. The tongue and midsole opt for a ‘Sail’ colouring, and they’re rounded off with a contrasting black rubber outsole. And as you’d expect, each of the Air Jordan 1 Lows features foot-supporting Air-tech in the sole for top-quality comfort on and off the basketball courts.

They’re a celebration of Nike’s heritage, they’re executed exceptionally, and you can get your hands on them here at size? two weeks before anyone else.
