Berghaus Dean Street Collection

Taking you back to where it all began, Berghaus‘ archival-inspired Dean Street collection coins its name from the brand’s birthplace above a shop on Dean Street, Newcastle. Founded by climbing duo Peter Lockey and Gordon Davison in the ’60s, the pair completely reinvented climbing gear over the coming decades. Experimental technologies and bold pops of colour defined the era, so to celebrate the defining decades of the brand’s heritage, Berghaus has dug through their archives to revive and rework some of their stand-out pieces for today.

Kicking off in the ’80s, the Unisex Ski Smock ’86 Jacket is a gem straight from the vault. The boxy-fitting piece was originally built to tackle the toughest of slopes, with its breeze-beating roll-away hood and durable polyester build; now it’s back in all it’s colour-blocked glory.

Moving onto the ’90s with the Tramantana ’91 Half Zip Fleece. Built from insulating polyester, it boasts two zip pockets to keep your valuables secure when out on and about, while a vibrant Aztec trim is an exact replica of a small section of an original ribbon found deep in Berghaus’ archive.

Next up it’s Berghaus’ iconic Rockstar Backpack from 1990. Hard as nails, the accessory has been a staple on the backs of ramblers, climbers and ski guides for years. Its roomy build means there’s more than enough room for all your travel essentials, and you can bet they’ll be safely protected from the elements with its 600D Polyester construction.

Nike ACG AW19

Since 1989, Nike’s ACG series has kitted out the explorers amongst you with gear tough enough to withstand the harshest elements.

Returning once again with their AW19 collection, the PrimaLoft Hooded Jacket wraps you in technical warmth. Lightweight and cosy, it boasts Nike’s toasty PrimaLoft insulation and heat-trapping elasticated cuffs. And when the heat gets too much, it can be conveniently packed away into its interior back pocket for quick and easy storage. The garment’s ripstop outer shell is highly durable, shedding water and keeping out the wind chill, while zip pockets throughout provide plentiful storage space.

Onto the legwear now, and the ACG Trail Pants are constructed from an ultra-sturdy ripstop fabric and boast an integrated belt to keep things secure, while a series of pockets serve up space for your outdoor must-haves.
