Nike N. 354 - Air Force 1 Type Black

Making its debut earlier this summertime, Nike’s N. 354 line kicked off by introducing two new experimental silhouettes. Now, the innovative range is back once again, as Nike treat us all to a moody iteration of one of the most coveted AF1’s in recent memory, the Air Force 1 Type.

Just so you’re up to speed, the N. 354 collection draws inspiration from the brand’s extensive catalogue of prototypes. Each model in the archive began life as an attempt to solve one of the many troublesome problems faced by athletes; by merging these classic creations with modern-day models, the N. 354 range aims to birth boundary-pushing creations in the process.

Nike N. 354 - Air Force 1 Type Close Up

The first Air Force 1 Type didn’t sit around for long and we doubt it’s going to be any different with this black and ‘Pink Tint’ edition. Up top, the pair’s medial side sports a semi-translucent TPE skin – similar to that of the React Element 87 –  highlighting the unique closure system underneath. This tech sits at the back of the basketball classic: a large Velcro strap that wraps around the heel to pull the concealed Flywire lace technology tighter, firmly locking your foot in place for a supportive fit.

The lateral side boasts taped seams for a deconstructed finish and opts for all-new N. 354 branding in place of the usual sidewall Swoosh. What’s more, a padded metallic black tongue offers something a little bit different from the 1982 OG, plus the model’s rubber toe-bumper extends from the midsole on to the toe-box for heightened durability. Like all Air Force 1 releases previous, this Type iteration retains the Air technology within the midsole, comfortably cushioning your every stride.
