Hailing from East London, Stepney Workers Club is a new brand focused on creating clean, functional footwear taking inspiration from years gone by. With an ethos built upon the inclusive attitude of British Workers Sports Clubs, the products pay homage to vulcanised styles popularised between the ’50s and ’80s.
Their introductory Dellow silhouette is a modernised take on a classic deck shoe, put together with a palette of solid materials. An alternative version of a minimal tennis style, there are several subtle design details throughout that help their individual vision sit apart from others.
The three-piece upper is formed from soft, premium suede and comes accented on the heel with pale canvas detailing. The brand’s signature ‘Handshake’ logo sits on the rounded tongue tab, and their ‘Freedom of Thought’ mantra sits on the tongue’s reverse. The whole upper is positioned upon a custom made midsole unit, complete with hidden flex-grooves sitting within the smooth outsole.
The new Stepney Workers Club footwear collection is currently available online at size? – priced from £65-£75 and in women’s sizes.
