Following up on the first collaboration between adidas Originals and Transport for London, the next instalment is made up of a selection of Continental 80s which pay tribute to London’s twelve Underground stations.
The capsule features six iterations of the Continental, with each pair paying homage to two London lines. Included in the pack, there’s special-edition silhouettes which honour: Hammer Smith & City and Northern; Jubilee and Piccadilly; Bakerloo and Central; District and Elizabethan Line; Victoria and Waterloo City and last but not least, Circle and Metropolitan.
A commemorative station sign decorates the heel tab and insole of each trainer, and the Continentals trademark sidewall piping sports the colours synonymous with the Underground line the shoe is referencing. There’s also an assortment of colourways to choose from – including grey, brown, black and white – and the collection also sees the silhouette arrive in both suede and full grain leather iterations.
The capsule retains all of those technical features that have made the Continental such a success. Perforated detailing is visible in the toe box and sidewall of every shoe, delivering ventilation so your feet can breathe. There’s also an Ortholite insole and an EVA midsole underfoot, ensuring each out of your outings is as cushioned as the last.
