The popularity of the Puma Blaze of Glory has increased rapidly over the past 5 years since it's reintroduction, predominantly due to a long list of successful collaborative efforts with retailers (including ourselves) the reissue of the OG '93 version alongside the Disc back in 2014 and a slew of great general release colourways.
This year sees a facelift applied to the materials and overall construction of the shoe, but the original style and character of the shoe is still very recognisable, the classic elements have been retained. The chunkier midsole unit on the original has been replaced with a much slimmer, lightweight Ignite version. The uppers have been stripped back, with the familiar plastic wings replaced with flatter, tonal suede panels. Shape wise this still stays in keeping with the landmark elements we've come to associate with the shoe.
The standard mesh paneling on the toebox and sidewalls has been replaced with a 3D reflective material underlay, staying tonal and falls inline with the monochrome aesthetic of the pack. The lace section has also been updated with an elastic cord, with security controlled by a plastic toggle that can be easily adjusted.
