Highlighting the legendary success of Ethopian track runner, Haile Gebrselassie, adidas Originals have started to launch a new collection of trainers focusing on the three decades he has come from being an unknown long-distance road runner to becoming one of the most iconic athletes to date, ranging from 1980, through the 90s and finishing during the earlier 2000s.

Altogether, adidas will be releasing nine retro-style runners for the collection, three from each decade bring us to the present date. To cover all memorable dates, the series features the ZXZ ADV from the 1980s, ZX5000 Response from the 1990s and finally the adizero Adios 2 from the 2000s, each of which will be presented in a respective colour palette from that coinciding decade. The first of the bunch is presented with the 1980s in mind, featuring a combination of simple suede and mesh that clearly reflects the truly authentic running atmosphere for that time. Focusing on some of adidas’ most innovative technologies, all three models showcase their era-defining aesthetics, but with a simple pop of colour and a techinical mixture of materials that will no doubt be seen throughout the series.

The ‘Run Thru Time’ 80s collection from adidas Originals will consist of the ZXZ ADV (£85) and ZX5000 Response (£90), both of which will be available online and at our Manchester, Carnaby Street, Leeds, Covent Garden, Metro, Liverpool and Glasgow stores within the coming week, whilst the adizero 2 (£95) will be an online only release. All models will be available in UK sizes 7 – 11.20131006-091949 am.jpg
