Vans ‘Off The Wall’ Spring Classic 2013 Recap

Whilst we were having a scorching bank holiday here in the UK, Vans was over in the small town of Varazze in Italy to host their 5th Annual ‘Off The Wall’ Spring Classic event. Packed full with beach-goers, great music and a mish-mash of Californian-styled activities, the already infamous event attracted large crowds, all wanting to catch a glimpse of what has been named as the best miniramp skating that Europe has to offer.

Out of the 65 skaters that entered, only 3 could prevail, with the UK’s own Chris Oliver making good use of the new added spine, but not having enough presence to grab a top spot. That is until one of the judges presented him with a wildcard for this Sunday’s final. Overall the American and native Europeans stood out, not only on both the miniramp and street arenas, but against the stunning beachside setting.
