When Tinker Hatfield started designing the Air Jordan IX, his Airness Michael Jordan was in the Far East promoting his brand. Because of this, there’s been a lot of Asian influences along with subtle hints to Tinkers global representation of the basketball brand. This is featured on the translucent soles with words that describe MJ in different languages, from Russian to French and even Swahili . The silhouette is one of Jordan’s most famous and in our opinion, the ‘Cool Grey’ is the best, mainly due that pearly white midsole – a classic for those rare sunny days.
