Every now and then, we like to partner with adidas Originals for a silhouette that’s a little unconventional – cast your minds back to 2017’s Henry Poole pack, ’18’s Colnago collection and ’19’s Fox Brothers & Co Campus 80s. For 2020 it’s no different; this time we’ve been lucky enough to bring a film studio into the mix to help us dream up a duo of Superstars inspired by Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 spin on Shakespeare’s Romeo + Juliet.

The film is truly iconic. The modernised take of William Shakespeare’s famed tragedy brings one of the oldest love stories to life in a completely unique way that’s resonated with fans since its debut, turning the film into a cult classic.

21-year-old Leonardo DiCaprio and 17-year-old Claire Danes serve as titular star-crossed lovers of feuding families, and whether you side with the Montagues or the Capulets, there’s no need to worry because we’ve got two brilliantly bold models to offer you this season.

For our exclusive Romeo Superstar silhouette, we’ve patterned the pairs smooth leather upper in a mash-up of all the patterned shirts Leo and the Montagues wore which have gone on to become iconic and synonymous with the film – they look exceptional if we say so ourself.

For our Juliet, we’ve opted for a plush pink shade across its base, with solid-coloured 3-Stripes to the lateral side and vibrant patterns on the medial stripes. What’s more both models feature ‘+’ branding on the heel tab as a final nod to the film’s title.
