20 years on Carnaby Street – celebrating our flagship store
For us, Carnaby Street has always been more than just a store.
Situated in London’s historic shopping district, it was one of the first three size? stores to make its mark on the high street when it opened its doors in 2000.
And although it’s seen several facelifts and revamps over the last 20 years, its character and charm have always been present.
It’s safe to say we’ve made the most of the space since its opening.
We’ve hosted countless events – the Nike Olympic Pack launch with NBA-icon Scottie Pippen & Dave White’s ‘Wet Paint’ art installation are easily two of the store’s most iconic moments.
We’ve also been lucky to accommodate some of the biggest UK and US artists over the years. Jaykae, London Posse and Miraa May are just a select few to have graced the store as part of our size? sessions series.
Championing a creative spirit is what Carnaby Street has always been about. And with our 20th anniversary in full flow, you’ll be seeing plenty more iconic events throughout the year.

Carnaby St. – size? sessions
Mick Jenkins – size?sessions
One of our earliest size?sessions, Chicago’s Mick Jenkins descended upon Carnaby Street in early 2017.
A poet prior to his career in music, Jenkins is one of the new generation of MCs to come through the ranks with an off-key style and flow that instantly commands attention.
Jay Rock – size?sessions
For our first size?session of 2019, we were lucky to host none other than Grammy-award winner and Californian-native Jay Rock.
It goes without saying that the ‘King’s Dead’ rapper didn’t disappoint.
Jaykae – size?sessions
Although its often seen as more of a London-centric genre, Birmingham has produced its own string of influential Grime MC’s over the years. Devilman, Invasion Alert and Sox have all helped put 0121 on the map over the years, but none have risen to the same heights as Jaykae.
In 2018, we got the chance to sit down with the Brum-based artist to find out a bit more about where he came from, the influence he takes from his area, and how ‘Toothache’ featuring in hit TV series ‘Power’ helped raise his profile as an independent artist.
London Posse – size?sessions
After over twenty years away from the stage, London Posse reunited for a short period back in 2017 to honour the memory of the hip hop collective’s late beatboxer Sipho.
We were fortunate enough to be able to get them down to our Carnaby Street store prior to their show that evening and speak to them about the initial forming of the group, how Covent Garden played a big part in the development of the UK’s rap and hip hop scene, and what individualism means to them.

Celebrating the release of our Campus 80s collaboration with adidas Originals and Fox Brothers, we reinvented Carnaby St. in a design befitting of the English fabric makers 248-year history.
Iconic Events
Nike Olympic Pack Launch – Scottie Pippin Interview
A true legend in the world of sport, Scottie Pippen won countless titles during his 17-year basketball career – including 6 NBA titles with the Chicago Bulls & 7 NBA All-Star appearances.
We were lucky to catch an interview with the man himself at the launch event of 2012’s Nike Hyperdunk+ & Dream Team collection at Carnaby Street.
The evening kicked off with a one-on-one interview with Pippen, who answered a set of questions from legendary DJ MistaJam and the winners of our Hyperdunk+ launch event competition.
Following the interview, 5 lucky competition winners competed against each other in a live ‘Jump Off’ to see who could jump the highest, with the winner taking home a pair Hyperdunk+s.
Skepta SK Level Takeover
Celebrating the launch of his third SK Air collaboration with Nike, Skepta took over size? Carnaby St.
A truly memorable evening, Boy Better Know’s DJ Maximum and Tre’bore laid down the tracks for the night, while Skepta himself met fans and signed merchandise before his sold-out London’s Printworks gig.
Nike x Dave White ‘Wet Paint’ Pack – size? Exclusive Art Installation
With the help of design agency Rosie Lee, we brought Liverpudlian-artist Dave White’s studio environment to life inside the Carnaby Street. Paint splattered floor and easel to boot – the installation celebrated the launch of Nike x Dave White ‘Wet Paint’ Pack.
