Nike Air VaporMax Animal Pack ‘Leopard’
Continuing their journey into the wild, Nike release their next instalment in their Air VaporMax ‘Animal Pack’. Throughout their history, the sports giants have been partial to adding a bit of animal-inspired print to their releases, and this time the brand’s most innovative runner to date gets a leopard-print makeover.
Distancing itself from its predecessors, the Air VaporMax was formed with the idea of using less air, more efficiently. With the aid of pressure maps on the foot, Nike designers identified the precise amount of Air needed to support a runner’s step. Building on that technology, the team formed a tread patterned outsole which performed like small pistons; with each of its lugs being pushed into the Air unit and releasing at step-off for that energy-responsive, springy bounce.
This season, Nike’s revolutionary running revolutionary evolves once again, this time receiving a safari-inspired update. Arriving in a leopard-influenced colourway, this iteration of the VaporMax retains all key features of the ground-breaking original.
The sock-like Flyknit upper is decorated in a primarily golden brown palette, with brown and black leopard spots adorning the pairs plastic heel and midfoot panels. Signing things off, the lightweight trainer plays host to the instantly recognisable Air bubble outsole for a wonderfully buoyant sensation underfoot.
