Air Jordan VII Retro

Continuing their substantial Olympic celebration, Jordan Brand pay homage to one of the most famous basketball teams ever assembled in the history of the game with the upcoming release of this AJ7.

First released in 1992 and with a design inspired by an Afropop music poster and the Air Huarache basketball series, one of the most noticeable features of the Air Jordan VII at the time was that it didn’t have the Nike Air logo on the rear of the shoe. Designer Tinker Hatfield also decided to do away with visible Air, setting the template for future releases in the Jordan line.

A number of colourways of the ‘7’ have been released over the years but it’s this version that has gone on to become one of the most desirable. First worn by Michael Jordan as he led the record breaking ‘Dream Team’ to gold at 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, this iconic colourway is back in its original form for only the 3rd time in its 20 year history.

Available in limited numbers, the white/metallic gold-obsidian-true red colourway of the Air Jordan VII releases this Saturday, July 21st.
