adidas Originals Gazelle
Of all the releases that have come out of the adidas camp over the past seven decades, one has stood the test of time as a mainstay favourite since it’s introduction in 1966 as a training shoe. The Gazelle has seen many changes over this lengthy period, and adidas Originals are proud to reintroduce it in one of it’s finest forms for 2016.
The shape is closer to that of the popular Gazelle 2 that we saw span across the 90’s and mid 2000’s, with a thicker midsole unit than it’s much slimmer ‘OG’ sibling that has held the limelight in more recent times.
This 2016 update takes it’s shape from an archive piece from the Herzogenaurach storage facility which houses original adidas product from it’s immense back catalogue. For the most part, adidas Originals will sample shoe’s in a UK8.5, but this archive piece happened to be a UK8 instead, so every detail has been realised to make sure this reproduction as true to the original as possible in order to create the perfect Gazelle.
Beginning the campaign with two classic suede colourways complete with leather stripes, heel tab, and gold foil centrepiece branding, we’re looking forward to seeing a lot more activity around this cultural icon over the next few months.
Both colourways of the adidas Originals Gazelle release online and in selected size? stores on Friday 3rd June, priced at £80 and available in size 6-12 (Including half sizes).
