New Era’s Collaborative Origins and Cultural Influence With Jonathan Mannion (via Hypebeast)

Hypebeast recently sat down with renowned Hip Hop photographer Jonathon Mannion at his New York home to discuss the importance of the brand within the cultural sphere of Hip Hop. You may not readily be aware of Mannion’s name, but you’d definitely have cast your eyes across at least one of his images, even if you have the vaguest interest in Hip Hop.

He’s been fortunate enough to have shot iconic album covers with cultural figureheads such as ODB, DMX, The Game, and is responsible for Jay Z’s Black Album and Kingdom Come which glaringly highlighted the famous headwear as a main feature of the artwork. The adoption of the New Era cap as an essential accessory within Hip Hop’s varying genre’s of style is unquestionable. The 59Fifty in particular has donned the crown’s of your favourite rappers, favourite rapper on more than one occassion.
