This season’s jackets to watch out for
It’s that time of the year again…
The night’s have pulled in, the clouds are getting thicker and the rain is becoming more frequent. Don’t worry though; we’ve got your back at size? this season.
In line with an array of Autumnal arrivals, we’ve spoken to a few of our friends and asked them to outline which jacket is the one for them over the cold, wet months ahead.
Rav Matharu (Clothsurgeon) – Carhartt WIP Chore Coat
‘A timeless classic and well constructed piece from a brand with authentic history. They get better with age and builds character through wear and tear.’

Mano Dridi – Levis Sherpa Trucker Jacket
‘Levis have once again triumphed in reinventing their iconic Sherpa Jacket. Reflecting the blue wash of Levis denim yet utilising the warm cream coloured wool lining, perfect for layering or wearing alone.
With a nod to the deep South of the 1970’s, the Sherpa Jacket now represents a universal trend which continues to offer versatility and innovation whilst retaining all the marks of its history and heritage.’

Ryan Barr (The Drop Date) – Stussy Big S Letterman Jacket
‘Summers gone, and winter is fast approaching so the STUSSY BIG S LETTERMAN JACKET is the perfect option for the current autumnal conditions. The weight and fit is ideal for the erratic temperatures, and the oversized white embroidered graphics keep things classic from one of our all time favourite streetwear brands. With both function and fashion in mind, this is the ideal piece to keep the cold out, whilst still keeping your cool 100% on!’

Daniel Milne (Smart Side of Casual) – Carhartt WIP Phoenix Coat
‘The Phoenix Coat is a hybrid mixture of the famed chore coat but with a touch of winter flair, seen here in the famous ‘Hamilton Brown’ (Duck brown). Brown-coloured duck, a durable canvas cloth, has been the trademark fabric of Carhartt garments since Hamilton Carhartt founded his work wear business in 1889.
It’s constructed from a thick water repellant cotton fabric weighing in at 12oz & features a pile lining throughout the body and collar. The sleeves have been lined with a quilted nylon that not only gives and an alternative form of heat but is a practical piece of manufacturing. A concealed zip runs through the jacket & is neatly stored under a robust & elegant storm placket. Trademark brass like press studs line the jacket, this gives the piece its famous Carhartt WIP character, maintaining its heritage feel.
As with all good Carhartt WIP clothing, there is practicality along with functionality. With four pockets in total it houses two hand-warmer pockets and two vertical utility pockets for storing tools or any winter essentials you may have. The right hand pocket of the latter has been adorned with the Famous Carhartt WIP logo which has been lovingly stitched into the durable canvas. The cuffs of the jacket are button adjustable which is perfect for wearing gloves over the much colder months ahead.’
