2021 has been another tough year for everyone, but with loosened restrictions, our stores reopening, a variety of size?sessions and a load more size? events across the year – we got a taste for what we had been missing out on. For our final round-up of 2021, we decided to look back at some of these events; it has been a ball.

First off, while Luke and Chris have been releasing monthly size? Previews videos on our YouTube channel, we hosted our very own size? AW21 Previews Show. This event showcased the amazing exclusives that we had coming up throughout the rest of the year. This event installation was based on an abstract version of the typical size? stockroom, offering behind the scenes access and QR codes that gave information on each product. Taking place at The Black & White Shop, it was great to showcase all our Exclusives in their physical glory.

With our loyal customers returning to our stores, we decided to spruce up our storefronts throughout the year. To get us in the mood for the spectacular Euros 2020 tournament, we collaborated with @art_of_football to redesign some of our storefronts, celebrating cities rich in footballing history and culture. Our Manchester storefront also got a revamp for the start of the latest Premier League season, showcasing the red and blue sides of the football-centric metropolis.

What’s more, Manchester Tom showcased his ‘The Gayeux Tapestry – The Queer History of Manchester’ piece on our size? Manchester store for Pride Week – check it out below and read up on the timeline here.

Moving on, one of our highlights of the year has been hosting an amazing array of size?sessions around the country. After a year of socially distanced sessions, it has been amazing to invite crowds back to watch the performances, and most importantly, bring a buzzing atmosphere to each event. From our most recent show in the Toon to a D&B night in Bristol, IAMDBB at YES Manchester, and an exclusive show at size? Carnaby Street to celebrate the Nike Air Max BW. Our 2021 has had some amazing musical highlights.

Via our size? syllabus project, we collaborated with university fashion and creative departments to support and promote rising talent. In line with this, we were thrilled to be the official sponsor for the Footwear Design Award at Graduate Fashion Week for the 2nd year running. For this award, students created their own unique and fashion-forward footwear concepts. This included everything from designs based on sculptures, sustainable innovations, high-end silhouettes, utility shoes and more. Check out the three projects that made it to the final here.

One of our highlights was collaborating with Liverpool Sound City 2021, with our size? Artist Training and Development Programme Powered by CAPLL. We offered 12 successful applicants the chance to learn about recording/releasing music, tour management, funding management, marketing, PR, personal development, brand awareness/growth and more. Also, we got the privilege of hosting our own stage at the festival with Fred Perry at The Arts Club.

Last but not least, 2021 saw the start of size?access, an exclusive membership programme offering our loyal customers an upgraded launches experience. size?access offers each customer a higher chance of winning raffles while offering a slew of other perks to the mix – and it’s also free to join – get involved today!
