Last week we saw the return of The House Party with VERSUS and Nike – a series of live events to celebrate new football culture. To kick off the season, ahead of Manchester Pride 2023, VERSUS took over ?manchester, to celebrate Pride in Football. 

VERSUS brought friends and family together with a live panel talk featuring VERSUS’s Amie Cripps and Demi Stokes who chatted all about LGBTQIA+ diversity in a male-dominated sport and the importance of inclusivity, as well as balancing her professional football career with being a mum. When touching on first announcing she and her partner were expecting a baby, Demi went on to talk about how her “platform” is an important place to “help a lot of people” going through the same journey as herself. “By being authentic” and having open conversations about families coming in all shapes and sizes “is what it’s all about” and we couldn’t agree more. 

Showing out for the VERSUS and size? community was Birmingham’s own Kofi Stone bringing his soulful and smooth, flow to store energising the audience and rounding out the night with his hip-hop storytelling. Along with limited edition VERSUS x size? tote bags up for grabs, one lucky attendee got to pick up a pair of Nike Air Max as a part of a Polaroid competition and it was business as usual with the community enjoying a couple of games of FIFA 23 – where women’s football has never been better represented.
