This time round we for ?sessions, we celebrated the launch of the adidas Originals BC Trainer ‘Seaside Series’ pack. The collection featured three colourways that are inspired by and pay homage to places in some of our adored British sea sides: Cleethorpes – Marklews Fisheries chip shop, Blackpool – The Ballroom, and Brighton – The Pavilion.

The event took place at Grimsby’s very own Docks Beers brewery with comedian and presenter Lloyd Griffith hosting a night including an all-star lineup of indie-pop meets rock melody bands plus a DJ and a live ?previews discussion. That’s not all that went down either, we served up our Seaside Series-inspired beer in collaboration with @docksbeers. Who was on the roster? Let’s look back…

Reverend & The Makers

Hailing from Sheffield, South Yorkshire, Reverend & The Makers has enjoyed success in the UK over the past two decades with an unbroken run of six top-20 albums. Merging rock and indie together with their debut album, ‘The State of Things’, the band went on to score a top 10 single with ‘Heavyweight Champion of the World’. They’ve also penned several collaborations, and 2022 saw them back with a new track, ‘Heatwave in the Cold North’ – a piece of northern soul, which showcased Jon McClure’s timeless songwriting.

Indigo Bay

Formed in 2018, Indigo Bay is a four-piece indie-pop band from Grimsby that runs on feeling, and values earnest vulnerability over laddy machismo. Lovers of escapism, the quartet received a positive reception from their debut single ‘Robin’, bursting onto the scene as newcomers who are here to stay with their timeless melodies. Signed to Heist or Hit, the band’s latest tracks such as ‘Bats’ and ‘After Dark’ are instantly addictive and explore themes of shame, joy, bravery, and fear.

Finn Doc

A Blackpool native and now Manchester-based, Finn Doc is an award-winning DJ, producer, and promoter with a new event series called “Éist”. As well as scooping up the electronic music festival Alfresco & Cowbell Radio award, Finn has thrown parties in venues across the North of England for the best part of 8 years including Manchester’s Albert Hall, Escape to Freight Island, New Century, and more.
