Last weekend we kicked off Mancheter Pride 2022 celebrations at @size_m1_manchester with our shopfront draped in an illustrated piece by pop culture illustrator @domandink – in partnership with @aktcharity. Plus an all day size?sessions set was in full swing from @ginabreeze & @djpaulette!

It’s amazing to have artwork by a queer illustrator supporting the LGBTQIA+ community on our size?Manchester store. As Dom says “Celebrating pride in Manchester is so important because it’s such a beautifully diverse city.” For this piece Dom wanted to represent a safe space and also being there for one another and the work akt do. “Working with Albert Kennedy Trust, he wanted to have the “two hands symbolizing a safe space, community, unity and acceptance and all the great work the Albert Kennedy Trust do supporting LGBTQIA+ homeless youth.”

akt work with LGBTQIA+ youth and support 16–25-year-olds who are experiencing homelessness or living in a hostile environment. Unity is really important in the LGBTQIA+ community and Dom’s artwork really represents this. “Unity is a really key message for all my pieces, in and outside the LGBTQIA+ community, because I think within it, it’s the fact that we need to be there for each other and look after each other. We’ve got queer rights being rolled back across the world.”

Now more than ever, it’s so important that size? and akt are having these conversations to support the LGBTQIA+ community. As Dom says, it’s so important for “our allies to be unified with us in unity and to be able to platform our voices and be there for us and support us too.”

Head over to our size? Instagram for a closer look and be sure to follow Dom and akt!
