size? collections – Freddie Washbourne – size? Birmingham Sales Assistant
For our latest size? collections, we stopped off in Birmingham to catch up with size? Birmingham Sales Assistant Freddie Washbourne.
This expansive collection combines nostalgia with an array of modern gems and rare collaborations – check it out…
PUMA Suede (1994)
“I have been into trainers for quite a while, tracing back to this pair of PUMA Suedes, which were the first pair my parents bought me. Although rock hard and sun damaged (yep they really are 27 years old!) I have them hanging in my room as they make a great display piece.”
Nike x Carhartt WIP Air Max 95 & AF1 (2018)
“I’d say my trainer tastes slight favour Nike and my favourite clothing brand is Carhartt, so these two pairs were a no brainer for me. Staying true to Carhartt’s famous materials and colours – on two of my favourite silhouettes – make these great everyday shoes.”
Nike Air Max 1/97 ‘Sean Wotherspoon’ (2018)
“I still remember the hype around these being like nothing else I have experience in my retail career. As a one-time only competition winner, these shoes were widely sought after, and I was lucky enough to get a pair. They still stand out to this day and will only look better over time as the corduroy material wears down.”
Nike x size? Air Max 1 ‘Safari’ (2018)
“When size? collaborates on a shoe, it is always a hit, but when I found out they’d be releasing their own Air Max 1, I was all in as that has forever been my favourite shoe. Taking inspiration from the Nike Safari print, this shoe is a perfect mixture between standing out and going well with every outfit. Not one you see every day either.”
Jordan x Off-White Air IV (2020)
“How could I not include these? The Off-White x Nike collection has, arguable, been some of the biggest releases of the past few years. Controversially, I haven’t been a huge fan of a lot of the selections and, generally, I’m not a massive fan of Jordans but these are special. From the colour blocking to the choice of materials and laces, they are an all-round premium show and I am very fortunate to own a pair. Originally released in women’s sizes, this meant having smaller feet finally paid off!”
adidas Originals x size? ZX 10,000 (2020)
“There were many great releases last year during size?’s 20th anniversary, but the one that stood out for me was the ZX 10,000. Once again, the choice of colours to match size?’s iconic branding mixed with great materials and the embossed ‘?’ on the heel, made a shoe that greatly represents the brand. I think this shoe is one to be remembered.”
