size? collections – Ian Wilce aka @vindidas – Footwear Collector
Ian Wilce, or @vindidas as he’s better known, has one of the greatest adidas collections we’ve ever seen. There’s no use us rambling on about it, just keep scrolling and check it out for yourselves…
Solebox x adidas Consortium Berlin – 2009
“These were part of the ‘My Cities’ Consortium series that released in 2009 where adidas teamed up with stores from different countries to rework some of the classic ‘CITY’ shoes from the past. The build & quality of materials used to make each pair is superb & make them a great addition to have in any adidas collection.”
size? x adidas Originals Paris 1/20 – 2012
“Released to coincide with the opening of the size? store in Paris in 2012. These are probably the most limited pair of adidas in my collection.”
adidas Originals Training 72 ‘Noel Gallagher’ – 2011
“adidas teamed up with Noel Gallagher in 2011 to produce the now Famous ‘NG’ 72. These were only released in the UK at No.6, the adidas flagship store in London. Being a big Oasis fan, I had to have a pair.”
SNS x adidas Consortium Stockholm – 2009
“Another pair from the ‘My Cities’ Consortium series saw SNS from Sweden work there magic on the Stockholm. Plush grey suede & blue stripes that match the OG colourway makes this a firm favourite with myself & a lot of adidas collectors.”
adidas Originals Trimm Trab ‘Liverpool’ 1/100 – 2007
“Released to celebrate the opening of the adidas originals store in Liverpool in 2007. These are the ‘MARMITE’ pair of adidas in my collection – you either love them or you hate them due to them being linked to a certain famous football team. In my opinion, these have the best heel tab design that adidas have ever done!”
adidas Originals Adisuede – 2008
“The vibrant colourway was based on a pair of Athen that released in Japan. Hard to find these days due to them being very popular with adidas collectors.”
adidas Originals Athen – 2004
“Reissued along with a few other iconic cities were these Athen. Blue with white stripes on a gum sole – classic adidas.”
adidas Originals Gazelle OG – 2010
“Released here in the classic ‘MEXICANA’ colourway, these a firm favourite with adidas collectors when they dropped back in 2010. Everybody needs a pair of Gazelle’s in there collection don’t they?”
Overkill x adidas Consortium ZX 10,000C ‘I Can If I Want’ – 2019
“adidas and Overkill celebrated 30 Years of the ZX 1.000 series last year by releasing the ‘I Can If I Want’ ZX 10,000C. A collaboration which comes with a third shoe in a different colourway, meaning you can either wear matching trainers or swap them around & mix it up. Classic ZX colours, quality materials & shape makes this new ZX model a must for any adidas collector.”
size? x adidas Originals ’10th Anniversary City’ City Series collection – 2010
“6 pairs named after UK Cities that have a size? store: London, Dublin, Manchester, Glasgow, Cardiff & Birmingham. All of them are on most collectors ‘wanted’ list if they don’t already have them.”
adidas SPZL collection
“Created in 2014 by Gary Aspden & his team. Known for quality and attention to detail, the SPZL range has brought back & reworked some classics from the adidas back catalogue. Showcased here are some of the pairs from my collection: the ‘LG’, Lacombe, Padiham, Silverbirch, TRX, Munchen Super & the infamous Ardwick, which certainly splits opinions but is still probably one of the most saught-after pairs out there.”
adidas Originals Rouge – 2014
“I always wanted a pair of Rouge, so I was very happy when adidas decided to do a reissue in 2014.”
