Puma x Hot Wheels RS-X Toys
It’s been 50 years since Hot Wheels began entertaining children with eclectic toy car collections and epic stunt tracks, and to pay tribute to five glorious decades, PUMA collaborates with the US brand for a commemorative capsule collection. The selection will see three of Hot Wheels’ legendary toy cars reimagined in PUMA’s all-new RS-X silhouette; we delve into each versions details below.
First up, we have the RS-X “Original Sweet 16” – inspired by the first collection of Hot Wheels die-cast toy car which was labelled as being the most influential cars of all time. A royal blue colour scheme dresses the trainer’s uppers, accented with pops of orange throughout.
Next, we have a vibrant version of the RS-X which pays homage to the Camaro; an iconic toy car which hit shelves 50 years ago. This striking sneaker is flavoured in the car’s original colours, with predominant hues of orange and black coating the uppers.
Finally, there’s the RX-1 ‘Bone Shaker’. This car was an extremely popular addition to the Hot Wheels roster when it was launched in 2006, with its bold black/gold colourway and distinct skull design creating a strong impression. Taking note, this edition is coated in a mostly black palette, offset by splashes of gold and blue to the sidewalls.
All shoes are powered with PUMA’S innovative RS technology within the midsole, providing you with springy cushioning and support underfoot. Every edition is layered in mesh, textile and leather on the upper, and RS-1 branding appears on the tongue of every silhouette also. Finally, each sneaker boasts a transparent rubber outsole, all of which are embossed with Hot Wheels’ signature logo.
The Puma x Hot Wheels collection will be available via the size?previews app and in size? stores on Saturday 1st December, priced at £90.
