adidas Originals City Series ‘Amsterdam’ Launch Event Recap

Share This:

To celebrate the recent launch of the adidas Originals City Series ‘Amsterdam’, we headed over to the Dutch capital to speak to adidas enthusiasts about their favourite pairs in their collections, and what Amsterdam means to them.

Located at Amsterdam-Noord’s industrial Skatecafe, the event was a spectacle for all those lucky enough to attend.

Opening its doors in the early afternoon, revellers poured to wander around a footwear exhibition put together by adidas connoisseur Gary Aspden. Around 40 classic pairs of adidas Originals’ footwear were on display, documenting decades of adidas’ impact on terrace culture and, in turn, terrace culture’s impact on adidas.

Kicking things off, all guests took part in a pub quiz packed with questions on Holland’s footballing community. We were also treated to an in-depth panel talk hosted by football and music journalist – and terrace culture authority – Menno Pot.

Chatting all things terrace, adidas, football and Amsterdam – Menno was joined by Gary Aspden, Calcio Jack store co-owner Ralph Von Heyster, and Dutch footwear enthusiast Tommy Triggah.

The adidas Originals Amsterdam sold out on release, but keep checking back on the size? blog to check what other City Series are landing this year.
