Nike x Olivia Kim ‘No Cover’ Collection

This season Olivia Kim, Vice President of Creative Projects at Nordstrom, teams up with Nike for an apparel and footwear collection. Coined ‘No Cover’, the capsule taps into the attitude of ‘90s underground NYC, where self-celebration means openly being yourself.

The collection’s pieces are imbued with Olivia’s sense of style – which is rooted in the rave and hip-hop styles defining ‘90s New York. Its name is a subtle nod to the at-the-door charges often associated with NYC nightlife. And like NYC’s underground clubs at during that time, Kim wants this collection to be inclusive to everyone, promoting her ethos of no judgements and no rules.

Kim’s choice of silhouettes is based on her love of NYC streetwear from the ‘90s – a time when a majority of the on-trend styles and vibrant colours were exclusively made for men. From the line-up, we’re very pleased to be stocking Kim’s revamped renditions of the Footscape, Mowabb and Air Force 1. The Footscape arrives layered with iconic Zebra-printed suede across the uppers, while the outdoor-minded Mowabb is dressed in a palatable black and brown upper. The Air Force 1 is probably the selection’s most daring design: glow-in-the-dark soles, snakeskin Swooshes and corduroy uppers create a sumptuous look that’d make 1990’s NYC very proud.

Apparel & accessories wise, we’re stocking the collection’s hoody, t-shirt and hip bag. The vibrant coral hoody is crafted from heat-hoarding cotton and features a glitter-filled Swoosh to the chest. The tee follows suit with a glittered Swoosh of its own, while a branded Hip Pack provides plenty of space for all your daily goods.
