Clarks Originals are of the moment – always have been, always will be. From iconic styles that have never gone out of fashion to designs that are right for the times. They are timeless. Their legendary silhouettes are steeped in British heritage and have become mainstays in a selection of subcultures spanning decades.
One of which is NYC Rap. Back in the ‘90s, hip-hop culture took a liking to the Wallabee. Among the approvers were famous rap collective Wu-Tang Clan. The Clan have constantly placed the brand at the forefront of their styling moments, and certain members – such as Ghostface Killah and Raekwon – have helped the Wallabee become a cornerstone of street style, not only by donning the silhouette themselves but by infusing their own quirky textures and colourways onto the shoe.
This season Clarks Originals and Wu Tang Clan’s revived clothing brand, Wu Wear, reignite their partnership for an exclusive collaboration. Just like Wu-Tang, the Wallabee has remained true to its roots while always staying influential and relevant, making this the perfect mix. Celebrating the legacy of two cultural icons, the pair’s third collection reimagines the Wallebee in three limited-edition colourways – all inspired by Raekwon’s infamous blue and cream intro to Glaciers of Ice.
The shoes feature digitally printed nubuck uppers, marble cake colourways, full leather trim and lining, and Clarks Originals’ famous crepe soles underfoot. Co-branded footbeds and fobs are the perfect way to finish off this unique blend of craft and style.
