adidas Originals Samba Rose

A classic within adidas Originals’ archive, the Samba was initially designed in the 1950s with performance in mind. It allowed footballers the opportunity to train in all conditions, especially in winter on icy or hard ground. Over the next decades, the Samba featured heavily within European terrace culture of the late 1970s, becoming synonymous with the fashion that surrounded football. Transcending terrace culture, the Samba is now an icon within adidas’ Original range, informing and influencing various sub-cultures. Fast-forward 60 years and adidas Originals have remodelled the Samba, injecting a contemporary twist to the OG for the ‘Samba Rose’ iteration.

A slightly modified shape, the Samba Rose is a women’s only rendition that features a much thicker, re-worked creeper outsole which has been fused on top of a classic Samba upper for a contemporary take on an iconic silhouette. Releasing in new black/gum and brown/gum iterations, the Samba Rose’s upper is constructed from premium leather and is accompanied by zig-zag, tonal three stripe detailing to the sidewalls, a breathable Ortholite insole and classic ‘Samba’ gold lettering across the side wall.

Both colourways of the adidas Originals Samba Rose are available now online and in selected size? stores, priced at £75.
