Reebok Zoku

The Zoku Runner is the first installment of Reebok’s newest futuristic knitted designs that certainly challenge what could be perceived as their normal direction. The name Zoku derives from a Japanese saying, which translates as “to be continued” or “to be a part of”.

This contemporary silhouette features a TPU cage designed to support the foot, an Ultraknit upper providing flexibility and a recognisable finish, and Reeboks own DMX Lite Cushioning system. Each of these individual elements helping construct a modern, stylish, lightweight shoe.

The concept itself draws on three decades of inspiration and utilises elements from previous Reebok successes, “The structure of the Aztec from the 70’s, the iconic Classic Leather in the 80’s, and the Dual Pump Runner in the 90’s” says Tracy Lux, senior designer of Reebok Classics and the Zoku Runner.

Reebok’s figurehead for the Zoku Runner campaign Nyvadius DeMun Wilburn, aka Atlanta born rapper Future, first showcased the shoes at the Reebok event last week in London, giving attendee’s a chance to take a closer look at the brands contemporary direction that still works hand in hand with their Classic identity.

The Reebok Zoku is available online here and in size stores now, priced at £95.
