Carhartt WIP SS12 campaign – Constructed Reality

German photographer Alexander Basile has been working with Carhartt Work In Progess (Carhartt’s European division) for the past 11 years and has created a number of different campaigns and lookbooks, each time more diverse than the last.
Basile’s work has always been regarded as expressive and this can clearly be seen in this video for the making of Carhartt WIP’s spring/summer 2012 lookbook. Entitled “Constructed Reality”, the collection of shots/looks were taken in everyday scenes, which were built to look intentionally fake and give the impression that all the elements in a shot are prefabricated and the only things that seem real the clothes themselves. To prove the “Constructed Reality” feel, the set was then intentionally destroyed after the shoot as can be seen in this video.
