adidas Originals Tobacco

tobacco_l_v24511_sideThe Tobacco by adidas Originals is a true terrace classic and a model that’s been crying out for a reissue for a number of years now. First released in 1978 as part of an all round leisure/lifestyle range, the original Tobacco featured a brown suede upper with contrasting Three-stripe branding.

Similar in many ways to a lot of early adidas releases, like the original Gazelle and the City collection (particularly the London), the Tobacco is a relatively lightweight, slim line silhouette that benefits from the comfort of a gum sole unit. The shoe’s design is classic ‘70’s adidas – subtle and clean, which is probably why it’s one of the most desirable models from the adidas back catalogue, especially with the older adi heads.

Released as part of adidas Originals spring/summer 2012 collection, these two new colourways, which both feature a supple leather upper and contrasting suede branding, are set to land in size? stores and online next week.
