The PUMA Suede Mayu is an amplified remodelling
In the vast PUMA archive, the Suede stands out as one of the most important. First released in 1968, the old school b-ball silhouette was a softer alternative to the standard leather silhouettes at the time. Now, the brand has reimagined this all-time classic with a red and a blue colourway with white detailing.
The PUMA Suede Mayu is an amplified revamp that is inspired by high-end fashion. Still recognisable as part of the PUMA Suede lineage, the Suede Mayu has a more bulked up upper with buttery soft materials and smooth leather Formstrips down the sidewalls. Tonal laces loop down the roof of the trainer while shiny metallic lettering sits on the lateral wall.
Nodding to ‘90s Japanese streetwear, PUMA decided to exaggerate the proportions of this shoe, featuring an elevated rubber sole unit with a ribbed toe bumper at the front. Beneath, there is a staple gum outsole with a grippy waffle tread.
The PUMA Suede Mayu is out on our site on Thursday 21st April. It is available in women’s sizes and priced at £90.
