adidas Originals NTS Radio x ‘DON’T ASSUME’ Collection
Channelling the inclusive nature of music, culture and sports, this season adidas Originals and Hackney-based NTS Radio join forces to release a limited edition ‘DON’T ASSUME’ apparel collection.
If you’re unaware of NTS Radio, the online station launched in London 2011 and champions the most exciting music and cultures through their mix of online sets and live events. Their ‘DON’T ASSUME’ strapline coins its name from singer Maggie Nicols and pianist Peter Nu’s jazz track in the ’80s, which ironically doesn’t sound very jazzy at all and ends with the words:
“Don’t assume… don’t assume… there’s no room to assume”
This attitude has always been a clear ethos for NTS, working with talent from a wide variety of musical genres, cultures and backgrounds. And this multicultural spirit is evident in their latest capsule collection.
Influenced by the diverse spirit and home-grown nature of sports and music, this ‘DON’T ASSUME’ capsule is packed with street-ready apparel inspired by football’s power to unite people of all nationalities together.
The 8-piece collection boasts footy-inspired home and away kits, including shorts, short-sleeved jerseys and a long-sleeve goalie offering, all of which come printed with an NTS jacquard print that harks back to adidas’ classic ‘90s football kits. There’s also adidas Originals’ latest ‘SPRT’ tracksuit – a lightweight number featuring flowing Three Stripes and NTS branding to the reverse. Rounding off the collection nicely, a cosy colour-blocked polycotton hoodie takes design cues from the archives with swerving stripes throughout.
Staying close to home, the football jerseys are complete with ‘Peppers & Spice’ sponsorship across the torso – cult Caribbean cafés situated in the heart of Hackney and Tottenham.
The adidas Originals x NTS Radio ‘DON’T ASSUME’ collection will be available via the size? website and in selected size? stores on Saturday 25th May, priced between £50 – £85.
