size? HQ: What’s next for 2026?

As 2025 draws to a close, all eyes turn to what’s next. 2026 is fast approaching, bringing with it a fresh wave of innovation, design, and creativity that is guaranteed to disrupt rotations. That said, 2025 saw the return of some cult favourites, from the slew of Air Max 95 colourways to the rise of Mary Janes, and let’s not forget the hybrid loafers that divided opinion – there’s no doubt the streetwear landscape in the next twelve months will shift once again.

To get a glimpse of what’s to come, we caught up with some of the team at size? HQ to get their predictions on what trends will define 2026. Here’s what they’re forecasting…

Jack Heaney, Senior Assistant Merchandiser

“Nike will continue to launch retros of the Air Max franchise, with the 90 being hero’d. Would like to see Nike ID (Nike by You) for AM1 to return. In 2026, we should really start to see Elliot Hill’s influence as the CEO of Nike. His main goal is returning Nike to its sports roots, and there have been hints of this throughout 2025 with the introduction of Nike Pegasus Premium alongside various iterations of Alphafly, Vaporfly etc.”

“JJJJound launching the NB990v4 via pre-order could be a sign of what’s to come for 2026 – could we see more brands follow suit? A remedy to the over-production and under-consumption certain brands have had to deal with over the last few years. Teddy Santis’ creative direction at New Balance has seen the brand produce some really cool GR colourways from the MIUS division. I’d like to see this continue but maybe be more of a figure for the brand, similar to Action Bronson, rather than behind the scenes.”

“Since Bjorn Gurden’s appointment at adidas, the brand has had a brilliant last couple of years with Gurden spearheading its charge up the market-share ladder. For 2025, the hero silhouette was the Superstar – 2026 will see the Stan Smith much more prominent. Following the blueprint of Superstar, Samba, Handball Spezial, the Stan Smith will have a big year.”

Amber Rose, Copy Manager

“2025 was about quiet confidence and pared-back silhouettes, so I’d say 2026 looks set to bring texture and technical craft to the forefront. The shift this time will be perhaps toward materials and designs that flex between fashion and function, think GORE-TEX, hardware accents, dress shoe nods etc. Material plays wise digital tools are also redefining physical craftsmanship just like the ABZORB 2000, so I expect to see more 3D knitted uppers, modular builds etc, footwear that looks like it’s custom-made but is digitally born.”

Alfie Harker, Social Media Exec

“I think Vans are going to come back in a big way, the new material takes on the Old Skool and Authentic like the Harris Tweed & Wool look great and the price point makes the pairs accessible for everyone. Having worked on Salomon projects throughout 2025, I think the brand really has its finger on the pulse in both the fashion and performance spaces. I think they will continue to push forward in 2026 with their collaborations and new technology.”

Prath Potnis, Assistant Buyer

Saucony has had a big growth in running space and Vans has become really fashion forward with a good take down on collabs and a strong collab list. We’re seeing good reads from Nike models like Air Max and Air Force. Think new models from New Balance should have a strong impact on the market as well.”

Nathan Dodd, Trade Lead

“I think we’ll see a continued growth in running dominance in the footwear space, Nike is returning to its performance-centric roots and I imagine this will filter through the market. The space is already super competitive and we are seeing brands like HOKA, Salomon, On and ASICS really challenge the status quo with new technology and finishes.”

Alannah Hewitt, Digital Content Exec

“I think Kickers could be a trend for 2026. We have seen the likes of loafers and Mary Janes become a big part of streetwear fashion throughout 2025, with brands such as: Paraboot, Dr. Martens, GH Bass, Red Wing and Clarks, all elevating that smart-casual vibe which has been a staple to the majority of our wardrobes this year. So I think Kickers may be next to broaden their collection – we already witnessed the hype around them when they released their Kickers x MAINS mule earlier this year.”

Beth Forrester, Trade Manager

“I see Nike and New Balance continuing to grow their dominance in the footwear space in 2026, driven by emerging trends that appeal not only to sneaker enthusiasts but also to newcomers. I also predict that adidas will introduce another model that captures the spotlight – the adidas Manchester from the ‘City Series’ is one of my favourite size? exclusives.”

James Parr, Brand Manager

“Believe we’ll continue to see the rejection of hype and fast moving trends, particularly in more premium fashion spaces, with consumers being conscious to wear durable or timeless silhouettes, easily styled, understated, yet made with premium material, quality, and aesthetic as a focus – perhaps seeing the resurgence of Vans or Converse staples in this space which will start to bleed through to more commercial brands”
