Tomorrow sees the global launch of the spring 2012 collaboration series between Converse and the world-famous virtual band, Gorillaz….
A highly anticipated release and one that Converse have kept pretty close to their chests for quite a while (helping the rumor mill tick over nicely), the collection consists of four Chuck Taylor All Stars, each one adorned with distinctive Gorillaz artwork created especially for the project by Gorillaz co-creator Jamie Hewlett. Hewlett took inspiration for each piece of artwork by incorporating various elements from the designs used on the bands album covers with the stand out piece being the camo CT All Star Hi which references the artwork used on the band’s self-titled debut album from 2001.
The partnership between the two brands also includes a Converse “Three Artists. One Song” track & Video entitled “DoYaThing” featuring Gorillaz, James Murphy & Andre 3000 of OutKast. The track will be available to download for free from converse.co.uk on Thursday 23rd February and those in the London area will be able to see/hear it playing in our Carnaby St store on it’s release day.
The Converse x Gorillaz spring 2012 collection will be available at our Carnaby Street store in London from tomorrow (14th February).
