Next up in our Vans Needlework Creators Series is @rugg_ryders, a Manchester-based creative collective comprised of AK, Kealan and Slowpo. This project was created during lockdown – a completely new creative environment for each of the creators and their target audience.

The trio started to create a range of standard floor coverings, helping liven up people’s homes whilst we spent much more time in them. If the room is used for chilling, working out or for WFH, their designs elevate the vibes in that space.  They often opted for iconic streetwear and musical designs, jumping from the Nike TN logo to the likes of the all-caps MF DOOM insignia.

So, we think you can guess what they put together for our Vans Creators Series. Inspired by the Vans checkerboard print on the latest Needlework silhouette, this was transported onto a rug, combining with co-branding for a collaborative nod. A truly vibrant spectacle, the floor covering opts for traditional black and white checks with splashes of colour throughout. Bold Vans branding adorns the centre and the size? question mark logo surrounds this.
