Last week, we unveiled size? Experts. The all-new platform – exclusive to Nike product – means you can seamlessly connect with one of our in-store Expert staff at the click of an icon. Over 50 size? Experts are available in 14 size? stores across the UK and France, and can provide the finer details on products, such as stock availability, sizing guidance and styling advice whilst you shop online. Our Experts will not only be able to talk through any product questions but they’ll also be able to share and live stream photos and videos, as well as booking you an in-store appointment to offer further guidance.

For more detail on size? experts, click here, where we explain the user’s size? Experts journey.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be catching up with our size Experts in Manchester, Meadowhall, Marseille, Camden and Toulouse to bring you an insight into their individual cities, streetwear influences and their vast knowledge of all things streetwear. They’ll also be explaining what it means to them to be a size? Expert, whilst delving into the benefits of using the all-new platform.

First on the schedule is Manchester, where we caught up with our size? Expert Nathan, who shone a light on his beloved hometown, his love of all things Nike and the pros of using size? Experts.

Introducing Nathan:

1. What’s your name and where are you from?

I’m Nathan and I’m from Manchester.

2. What does your city mean to you?

Manchester, it’s my home, man. It’s just the best city in the world. There’s nothing bad I can say about it, it’s just mega. Lived here all my life, so twenty-four years now.

3. How would you describe your personal style?

I would describe myself as a bit of a chav – I love my tracksuits, my 95s, my TNs – all of that stuff.

4. What is your favourite Nike product?

95s by a mile. I think I’ve got 9 pairs. I got my first pair recently as I could never afford them as a kid, I was too poor. That’s why I think my love for trainers has come out now, I’m just buying them constantly because I’ve got my own money now. Currently, the mint 98s that just dropped. They look proper retro like they’re from the 2000s, I just think they’re so cool at the moment.

5. What is special about your city?

The people man. Everyone is so mega. It’s the friendliest city in the world, everyone wants to get on with each other. You can just chat to anyone, and anyone will chat back to you. No moodiness whatsoever.

6. Where do you like to hang out?

It depends on what kind of mood I’m in. If I just want to chill I’ll go to the Northern Quarter and have a couple of bevs. I’ll chill at home with my friends, whatever the weather will let us do seeing as it rains here all the time.

7. What are your biggest influences – music, fashion, sport?

Loyle Carner – I think he dresses so mega, and I think he’s a cool guy. Everything he stands up for as well. He’s doing that thing where he’s teaching ADHD kids how to cook. I think that’s such a mega thing to do because he doesn’t need to do stuff like that. He’s helping the community and I do love that, I think it’s cool. In fashion – chavs. I see someone in a tracksuit and I think yes that’s hard. I don’t like influencers; I don’t like all that stuff. I just like normal people. I probably get more influence off my friends than I do off Instagram.

8. Where do you look for inspiration?

Definitely my friends. I feel like your friends are the best place to go for it – they’re the first to big you up, especially mine anyways.

9. What does 2019 have in store for you?

Hopefully more trainers, more clothes. But I’d prefer happiness, not just for me but for everyone.

Nathan and Nike:

1. What does Nike mean to you?

I’d say it’s my identity. You won’t catch me without Nike on, I’ve always got to have something on. Whether it’s my trainers, my pants, my hoodie, 90% of the time I’ll have it on.

2. Who wears Nike in your city?

Everyone man. You can clock OAPs in it. It might not be the top of the range, but you can see them, they’ll be wearing running shoes. I remember one time I worked up in Oldham, I remember seeing a guy wearing the Juventus 95s which are one of the rarest ones. And it’s just some random guy who had no idea, and I’m there gobsmacked at him walking about with them crumbling off. Literally, anyone will wear it.

3. What Nike styles are worn in your city?

Mostly Air Max. We’ve got a lot of Air Force, but the majority are 95s, Air Max 1s, Air Max 90s, especially.

4. Which of the Nike product launches has been most anticipated?

Definitely the Sean Wotherspoon. They came out on Friday, and we had people queuing from Tuesday night until Friday, it was mad.

5.  Do to consider yourself an expert on Nike?

I would, to be fair. I’ve got a good common knowledge; I’d probably say it was better than common. It’s something I’ve been into my whole life, and it’s a brand that I love. So learning about it is nothing to me, it’s what I like to do.

Nathan on size? Experts:

1. How does the size? Experts service work?

It’s an app, with a live chat so that anyone at home can easily get straight onto it. We can send them pictures of what the product looks like, of how it fits, anything they want to see. I can chat with them, give them advice on how stuff looks and how stuff fits. It’s a nice little thing.

2. What are the benefits of the service?

It’s like a personal shopper, without having to leave your home. If you want a quick five-minute chat, I can talk to you while you’re in your bed still, you don’t have to do anything. You don’t even need to brush your teeth!

3. What does being a ‘size? Expert’ mean to you?

It means a lot. It shows I’m well regarded in the history of Nike, people must know that I‘ve got good knowledge in it, and so I’m excited to have been chosen to do it.

4. What is the most commonly asked question you hear in store?

Is it on sale? Ha! No, it’s stuff like how it fits, price, is there any new colours, how long it’s been out.

5. How would your colleagues describe you?

Bit of an idiot. Someone that doesn’t take themselves too seriously, I hope anyway. A nice guy.

6. What makes you good at your job?

It’s something that I’m into anyway. It’s not like I’m having to go home and research how to do it, it’s stuff that I know how to do. I’ll come in and I can chat to someone for half an hour about trainers, which I do anyway, so it’s not like I’m working half the time, it’s like I’m just chatting to my friends about trainers and clothes, so it’s just dead easy for me.

7. Why did you want to work at size?

I always have. I remember when it used to be the old store down at the bottom of Market Street and going in and asking the manager for a job when I was 16. The way I am, and the way I dress, it suits me perfectly to a tee. I love it, man, it’s perfect.

8. What is your favourite Nike product from past and present and why?

I do love the 180, the OG colourway, I just think it bangs so much. It’s so simple, the white with the bright blue and the bright pink on the back. It’s best with an all grey tracksuit, it just looks so hard.

Be sure to keep your eyes on the size? blog for the rest of our size? Experts series…
