Meet the Designer: Amy Bray – Plymouth College of Art

The second graduate we’re profiling from Plymouth College of Art is BA Hons Fashion designer Amy Bray. Amy’s collection draws influence from her son’s passion for football, in particular his love for local team Plymouth Argyle. There are a lot of different details dotted throughout the collection to keep your eyes occupying each piece from every angle. On the surface, the collection transforms traditional silhouettes normally associated with football, including Bucket hats, tracktops, and the classic knitted scarf. Amy designed and had her very own scarf depicting opposition moral-killing slogan, “SIT DOWN SHUT UP!”.

In addition to the technically intriguing construction, Amy also created her own print that included references to adidas Originals Gazelle’s (another of her 14yr old’s favourite things!) classic terrace apparel and brands that have found association with football over the years including Nike & Fila, and obviously a nod to historic Argyle mascot Pilgrim Pete.

Amy selected the adidas Originals Gazelle which teamed up with her collection perfectly, complementing the custom prints and more traditional elements to the line.
