After the releases of the Air Max 1 ‘Elephant’ and Air Max ‘Beast’ within the last year, it seems we ’re being spoiled with yet another generous offering from the long-standing atmos x Nike partnership. The illustrious relationship spans back to 2002 when the Tokyo retailer teamed up with Nike for a unique reinterpretation of the Air Max 1, and since that point, the duo have been responsible for producing some of the most coveted silhouettes ever made.
Aptly named the ‘We Love Nike’ collection, this capsule channels atmos’ love of the Air Max series in an exclusive 3-piece shoe selection. The Air Max 90, Air Max 95 and the Air Max 1 all star in the line-up, and each vibrant pair pays homage to the roots of the franchise with a trio of ‘OG’ style colourways, with certain panels replaced with the ‘boxprint’ graphic.
According to atmos’ creative director Hirofumi Kojimi, the iteration of the Air Max 1 takes inspiration from the look of a typical sneakerhead’s room, with shoe box graphics adorning the mid-section of the pair’s synthetic uppers.
The Air Max 95 is rejuvenated in contrasting hues of black, crimson and ash. The photo-print graphic of the classic ‘airmax’ insignia that used to sit on some of the greatest Air Max 95 boxes sits on the alternating textured panels, and underfoot, the silhouette retains the famous multi-bubble air unit for supreme levels of cushioning.
Finally, this rendition of the Air Max 90 breathes fresh life into one of Nike’s most beloved sneaks. The iteration’s eye-catching uppers are decorated with splashes of ‘crimson’ to the toe and heel, while shoe box graphics wrap around the entirety of the shoe for an instantly recognisable aesthetic. Offset with sections of luxe black nubuck, the exclusive pair is complete with a semi-visible Max Air unit for supreme comfort.
The Nike x atmos ‘Print’ pack will be available via the size?previews app and in selected size? stores on Saturday 26th May, with the Air Max 1 priced at £110, Air Max 90 priced at £110, and Air Max 95 priced at £140.
