For the 30th instalment to our size? sessions Mix series, we headed across the pond to hear what New York City-based DJ Natasha Diggs had in store for us.

Natasha has been collecting records since the age of 17 and has been amongst the biggest names at parties across the globe for well over a decade, so it goes without saying she’s going to bring with her a vibrant soundscape.

Keep on reading to get to know a bit more about her…

Tell us about yourself; where you’re from, what you do and what’s your shoe size? 

“I’m Natasha Diggs based in New York City, I’m a DJ, artist, vibration shifter, and I’m a size 9.”

How did you get started in the music industry? 

“It all started with a love for unearthing musical gems by way of old records.”

How would you describe your music style? 

“Soulful.” 

What has been your record of the year so far, and what are you looking forward to hearing for the rest of the year? 

“There’s been so much good music coming out, but ‘I’m Just Doing Me’ by Melba Moore & Terry Hunter is definitely a theme song for me.. timeless message!”

Have you been making much music recently and can we expect some releases soon?

“Yes and yes.”

Has there been a particular event/party that has stood out for your career?

“So many, but recently amidst quarantine times here in New York. I had the pleasure of being asked to rock Stevie Wonder’s 70th Birthday party as part of a 24 Hours of Stevie Celebration. It turned out to be a magical moment. So many people around the globe coming together for the love of Stevie.” 

And looking further ahead, who should we be looking out for in 2021?

“I have so many talented friends with music coming on the way; 2 that come to mind off the top of my head are Alissia & A Big Fine Woman.” 

On Friday you’re broadcasting an exclusive size? sessions Mix for us. What can we expect to hear? 

“Some favourite tunes dug up from my record vault here in Brooklyn, NYC!”

Outside of the music industry, where do you look for inspiration?  

“Nature… the greatest work of art.”

What are your top 3 records of all time?  

“Impossible Question but I’ll pick 3 I’m digging at the moment: 

Bridge – Crying For Love, 

Roy Ayers Ubiquity – Star Booty, 

Pleasure – Joyous.”

What are your top 3 trainers of all time?

“I’m a vintage classics girl: 

Converse Chuck Taylor, 

Nike Blazers, 

PUMA Clyde.”
