London and Tokyo: two cities that may differ in culture but are bound together by one thing, their appreciation for streetwear. Despite lying 6000 miles away on different sides of the globe, both capitals are fashion-forward hubs with a keen eye on the latest trends.

With this in mind, our latest collaboration with Nike celebrates the cities’ love for clean and contemporary styles with a minimalist ‘Hemp’ Air Zoom Type.

Before we delve into our latest effort with the Oregon-giants, we thought we’d shine a light on the silhouette itself. One of the latest innovations from Nike’s experimental N. 354 division, the Air Zoom Type is one of the biggest hitting Nike models of this 2020.

Design-wise, it looks to the initial prototype for Nike’s fastest-ever runner – the Air Zoom Alphafly Next% – and tailors the technology towards the stress of everyday activities rather than breaking records. 

A stabilising TPU plate runs through the middle and two Zoom Air pods sit in the forefoot of pair’s stacked midsole, which makes for a truly unique cushioning sensation that has resonated with footwear fans in cities all across the globe – London and Tokyo being two of these. 

For our Air Zoom Type rendition, we’ve drawn influence from minimalistic Japanese design and built the pair with hemp across its uppers for a raw, natural aesthetic. Hits of blue appear on the corduroy eyestay, heel tab, printed Swooshes and stitching for a contrasting-yet-complementary finish; we’ve also decorated the silhouette with subtle nods to the two cities of inspiration with ‘LDN’ and ‘TYO’ tongue lettering.

And last but by no means least, the forward-thinking model is signed off with its signature layered midsole for an aggressive appearance and cloud-like cushioning.
