When you think city series, another German sports brand may spring to mind, but it’s Rudolf Dassler’s brand we’re speaking of today, and their latest release comes in the form of the PUMA Oslo-City.

A low-riding terrace classic, PUMA’s Oslo-City made its debut at the 1952 Norway Winter Olympics and fittingly lifted its name from the country’s capital city. Norway would go on to win that year’s games with a total 16 medals, while PUMA’s home nation of Germany sat at 4th with seven medals in total.

It’s been almost 70 years since the training silhouette was first donned on the feet of Olympic athletes and the shoe that landed that first time around looked a lot different than the model we’ve got here. It originally took on a bowling shoe-like design, but after several years of alterations, it was the 1968 iteration which stuck around.

Remaining faithful to its later iterations, this Olso-City rendition features soft white leather across the top, with smooth suede overlays at the toe for heightened durability, and black suede Formstripe branding for a contrasting touch. The all-purpose training silhouette’s moniker is called out in gold on the sidewall, and they’re rounded off in classic fashion with a supportive gum rubber outsole underfoot.
