Air Jordan VI ‘Infrared’

“This is the shoe that started it all for me; it got me obsessed with product and footwear in particular. I was bought a pair in the sale around 1992.”

Air Jordan VII ‘Bordeaux’ – 1992

“This shoe came soon after. I was a 10 year old with two pairs of Jordans – I went from Barrats trainers to Nike; it was a real coming of age. My mum bought me these a few sizes too big so I never wore them and when it came to wearing I had moved onto something else. So here are the original pair – OG deadstock.”

Nike Tiempo Premier football boots

“From a young age, I played football and signed pro with my hometown club Leeds United. Nike Tiempo was my favourite boot I ever played in.”

“I would trawl through eBay every day after school looking for vintage shoes and apparel. I ended up having quite a few from this era. Nostalgia has always been a massive emotion for me.”

“Big culture shoe for me this is. My Ayia Napa garage days and huddling around the changing room to see who had the dopest colourway. It holds many good memories.”

“This was the golden era of SB for me and collecting shoes. It takes me back to my days working at size? Leeds and getting dressed from the feet up to got to work.”

Nike Air Max 1 x Kid Robot

“This shoe was only released in Barneys New York, making it quite difficult to attain a pair in the UK. I trusted a stranger on a forum with £300 to get me a pair. He came through and all faith in humanity was restored.”

Nike Blazer Hi – 1981

“I have always been a big thrift store shopper. Either via physical stores or eBay, I always hunted vintage shoes. There something magnetising about an original silhouette. I found these in a vintage store in Camden for £8. They’re beautifully distressed.”

“A modern classic. A real collector’s piece, even though we are instructed to wear them till the soles fall off.”

“If I had to wear one shoe for the rest of my life, it would have to be an all-white AF1. It’s a timeless classic.”

Converse Chuck Taylor All Star 70s

“Generic modification at its finest. I mentioned before there is something that grabs you when you see an original or vintage shape shoe. What Converse did with the Chuck 70 was such incredible use of subtle detailing that it gives you that feel. I pretty much live in these.”

Air Jordan 1 x Union

“A collaboration that’s done right! I feel there are so many collaborations now without an authentic story. Union’s take on the AJ1 is an incredibly detailed production of one of my favourite Jordan silhouettes.”

Nike LDWaffle Racer x Sacai

“Probably my favourite collaboration of the last few years, also my favourite colourway. The Japanese share the same massive passion for vintage runners.”
