the authority on air: Air Max Light ‘Worldwide Exclusive’
We’ve had an affinity for the Air Max Light over the years, which all kicked off from this release. Rather than being dictated by an elaborate theme, these are purely a pair of future-classic colour ways, inspired by the panelling of the original colourway line-up from 1989.
Traditional running shoes from the ’80s and ’90s have always utilised an archetype for material selection. Upper panels are usually overlaid in a hardwearing but flexible leather which is strong enough to keep your foot contained within the shoe, but with enough movement that it’s comfortable to wear on 10-20k runs. Mesh is used throughout the tongue and toebox area to allow foot breathability, and soft nylon is often used around the heel area as a strong but comforting cup for the back of your foot to sit in.
For this first foray into the Air Max Light, we kept things simple with a pair of strong, traditional colourways that tastefully pay tribute to the styling of how an ‘OG’ Air Max colourway would normally be coloured. Simplicity can often be the best route to take.
